Rather than requiring the trainees sudo, it could be interesting to run the process as their user. This mimics many production set-ups where processes run as service-specific users (which teams may be able to ssh as) to avoid needing to give many folks root.

I think it is a great idea to have folks run these troubleshooting exercises as normal user.
Atleast that was the plan even this time around but depending on what information we want from some linux commands, sudo is pretty much required. I think we should definitely try for next course.
