Problem statement

We don't want external users getting confused by finding and using our Staging/Demo websites instead of our production website.

What you need to know

  • Etan used the Google Search Console to determine that our Staging and Demo environments may also be getting indexed by Google, which may make them appear in Google search results
  • Etan mentioned that we can add a file to our Staging and Demo environments that tells the robot to not index those sites/subdomains

Acceptance criteria

  • ReportStream Staging and Demo environments are not indexed will not show up in Google search results
