Feature Request

Does VMSS allow to create a data disk from snapshot during creation? I check in V4 & V5 of armcompute go sdk and couldn't find any relevant methods. Can you please suggest whether it is possible?

Hi @vishnujanardhanan, are you looking to create disk from snapshot that's automatically aligned to a VM in the same Fault Domain?

Implicit disk creation (above scenario, create disk from snapshot automatically aligned in the same fault domain) is not yet available on VMSS.

However, explicit disk creation is available and the current default on VMSS. With explicit disk creation, the disk is not aligned to a FD with the VM. Would explicit disk creation from snapshot work for you? Or are you looking for the implicit behaviour? Thanks!
